Poker players also like Black Jack
According to a study published in May 2008 by the PPR (Poker Player Research), a polling institute specialized third of online poker players also play blackjack online. And the opposite trend seems to be as true as shown by heated debates on sites dedicated to blackjack and poker.
It's not really surprising: these two card games allow players to express their tactical skill. Yet there are differences in size between these two games.
In a game of Black Jack, you do not measure the other players but to the Bank, represented by the croupier. In this game there is no bluffing or psychological analysis to have on the behavior of other players. The emotional pressure is much less important than poker. Black Jack, just knowing how to count cards in order to start playing: the goal is to reach or get closer to 21 points, but never exceed. The ace is worth 1 or 11 points, face cards are worth 10 points and the other cards have their nominal value. All the finesse of a part consists of your strategic choices: depending on the dealer's visible card, will you stand, hit, splitter, or double your bet? Even if chance and luck involved always, each decision you make will influence the game.
In poker, you're not playing against the house, which simply take a certain percentage of the pot. Against other players, you must obtain the highest possible combination ... or let others believe. The difference between good and bad players is the way to bet. We must learn to appreciate the situation to call, raise, move or fold. The beginners are often intimidated by this aspect of the game, which can give them a feeling of not control anything. Yet with a little practice and patience, the players soon to get excited intense game which is also heavily loaded with probabilities and statistics.
